Module 12
Interactive Video Tools
Google Docs is an easy tool to use, especially if your students already have google accounts. There is a drop down tab under insert. Instead of inserting a type of question, I chose to insert a video. The only option it gives you is Youtube. If you know the topic, but don't have a specific video, you can search right there. If you already have the URL code, you can chose that option and enter that as well. I created this discussion homework where students will be accessing this at home and coming back with questions and comments to enrich the lesson the following day. It was very simple to add the videos to this questionnaire where students will need to watch the videos in order to answer the questions and participate in class the following day.
Three Pros to using Google Docs and Youtube videos.
Three Cons to using Google Docs and Youtube videos.
- Very simple to use. Students could easily create their own form and insert videos.
- We are a Google drive school so this is compatible with the students and their devices. Easily shared and completed.
- Google Docs gives you a break down of the answers from each student for fast read of assessment.
Three Cons to using Google Docs and Youtube videos.
- You can only use Youtube videos.
- You can't use just part of the video, it doesn't allow you to embed the video.
- There is not place for students to ask questions if they don't understand. This is for assessments or a survey.
